RAIL
The Port of Gothenburg has the most frequently operated goods tracks in Sweden. The electrified port railway has generated more environmentally sound transportation; at the same time as the "on-dock" terminal offers efficient transhipment. The 26 train shuttles and customer adapted complete train systems that start out from the Port of Gothenburg are important cogs in the ports explicit ambition to carry more and more goods by rail. Connecting the so-called RailPort Terminals* in the most important logistic locations around Scandinavia to the train shuttles is a part of that strategy. This creates competitive transport solutions with the Port of Gothenburg as the hub.

INCREASING AMOUNT OF GOODS BY RAIL
The goods tracks to and from the port area are the most frequently used tracks in Sweden. Moreover, the port is one of the country's largest railway stations. Every day more than 70 trains depart from and arrive at the Port of Gothenburg to and from the largest towns in Sweden and Norway. The Port of Gothenburg has Sweden's best ratio of heavy to large goods with regard to rail transport.
