WINNER OF FUTURE TRANSPORT AWARD 2009


At the trade fair Elmia Nordic Rail and Elmia Future Transport at the beginning of October the winners of the newly instituted ‘Future Transport Award’ were named. The aim of the award is to focus on transport solutions of the future. The Port of Gothenburg was named the winner in the Intermodal Goods category.


THE PEGAUS PRIZE 2009

The Port of Gothenburg has been awarded the transport industry Pegasus Prize for acting as a driving force in the task, together with other bodies, of developing the 24 daily rail shuttles to 22 towns in Sweden. If during 2008 the freight had been transported by road, this would have resulted in the emission of a further 47,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The Port of Gothenburrg also runs a broad-based environmental programme which includes environmentally differentiated port charges and a programme for shore-side electricity supply to vessels in the port.


SCHENKER'S LOGISTIC PRIZE

The Port of Gothenburg was rewarded the Schenker Logistic Prize for its concept with dry ports all over Sweden. The concept is to make all of Sweden a part of RAILPORT Scandinavia where the Port of Gothenburg is the engine.


CLEAN SEAS AWARD 2008

The Port of Gothenburg was rewarded Lloyd's Lists Clean Seas Award for its work with Onshore Power Supply.


CLEAN MARINE AWARD 2004

In 2004, the Port received the European Union Commission´s new environmental prize, the Clean Marine Award. The prize was received for the provision of Onshore Power Supply for regular ro-ro ships, dramatically reducing their in-port emissions of noise and airborne pollutants.


SCHENKER LOGISTIC PRIZE EMMA 2004

Port of Gothenburg was awarded the Emma logistics prize for 2004. The award is a recognition of the effort invested and the way chosen by the Port to establish itself as one of the most important logistics nodes in the Nordic area.
