Cruise traffic puts Gothenburg on the map as an attractive tourist town. It provides income for the town's commerce.

On average, around 25 cruise ships put into the Port of Gothenburg each year. At the same time, the port has the capacity to receive considerably more cruise ships than is the case at present. Already, the Port of Gothenburg have 41 notified cruise calls for 2010. Interest in Gothenburg as a cruise destination is on the increase and therefore cruises now have its own website.

2010 the follwing cruise calls are expected at the Port of Gothenburg.

The Port of Gothenburg cooperates with Cruise Baltic, who coordinates the rising demand of cruise destinations in northern Europe. The Cruise Baltic cooporation covers 27 destinations in 10 countries.
