GOTHENBURG'S OIL TERMINAL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT GENERAL OIL TERMINAL IN SCANDINAVIA
The port provides land for depots and quays, and equipment for loading and unloading/bunkering oil. Environmental and safety measures, as well as the working environment, are also coordinated in the Oil Terminal. Each year about 2 500 ships call at the port. The annual turnover of crude oil, oil products and chemicals is over 22 million tons. About half of all crude oil coming in to Sweden is unloaded in Tor Harbour. Other oil products, chemicals and a smaller amount of crude oil are loaded and unloaded at the other two oil terminals, Skarvik and Rya. Read the Operating Regulations for the Oil Harbour.

COLLABORATION GIVES ADVANTAGES
Three major refineries lie directly adjacent to the port. The finished products are delivered to both Swedish and foreign markets. Other important customer categories are the independent storage companies and other petrol companies. Starting 2009, the Port of Gothenburg also functions as a reloading hub of Russian crude oil. They handle intermediate storage of chemical products, petrol, renewable products such as ethanol and bio-oils and other oil-based products. Close collaboration between depots and the Oil Terminal's 20 or so players is a guarantee for development and greater efficiency.
