WASTE AND SLUDGE MANAGEMENT
The collection of waste from vessels calling at the port is handled by the Port of Gothenburg by means of waste depots at the quayside. These are either stationary or mobile and the separation of waste according to type is encouraged. Sludge (oil and grease waste from the vessels' engine-rooms, etc) is taken care of using special road tankers or a special vessel. The service is performed by an independent company.
Notification of discharged requirements of waste shall be made at latest 24 hours before the waste is intended to be disposed via the link below or to one of the telephone numbers. The noticifation should be made during weekdays between 8.00 AM and 4.00 PM and before 12.00 AM on days before a non working day.
